Dr. Wonita Janzen is an individualized study tutor with Health Administration at Athabasca University. She is also an Adjunct Professor with the Faculty of Rehabilitation Medicine at the University of Alberta. Wonita holds a PhD in Rehabilitation Science, an MSc in Human Ecology and a BSc in Speech Pathology & Audiology, all from the University of Alberta, Edmonton, Canada.
With a multi-disciplinary background, Wonita’s research interests cover a wide variety of health topics, including Aging and Rehabilitation, Family caregiving, Degenerative diseases, health services and program evaluation. For more than a decade, Wonita worked as a research consultant with the Rehabilitation Research Centre, University of Alberta, providing research and statistical consultation to university, government and community organizations, including Alberta Health Services, Paramed/Extendicare, and the Capital Care Group . She has extensive experience in research methodology and data analysis.
Wonita has taught research methods courses at both Athabasca University and the University of Alberta. A proponent of life-long learning and critical thinking, Wonita incorporates these concepts into her courses and encourages students to seek and evaluate information. Wonita has assisted numerous groups of students on their graduate theses and capping projects.
